About Sean…
Hi! I’m Sean Faulkner, and I look forward to connecting with you! I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, husband, dad, and Atchison resident.
I have worked in professional counseling for over 10 years, helping teens, college students, and adults of all ages in individual, marital, and group therapy settings. My approach to counseling is an interpersonal one, meaning it’s all about relationships! I believe that all people are made for relationships, formed in relationships, unfortunately wounded in close relationships, and find great healing in relationships that uphold one’s inherent dignity.
I invite and welcome you into a counseling relationship with me, in which I will strive with great care to honor the goodness of your personhood as we collaborate together for the sake of achieving your goals for growth. By integrating the truths of what makes us human through a lens of Internal Family Systems (IFS), you will learn to extend mercy and compassion to all of your internal parts (think of the ‘Inside Out’ movies).
As we explore your life together, we will seek deeper levels of insight, healing, and freedom while pursuing the next right steps towards virtue, joy, and flourishing. It would be my great honor to get to know you and walk alongside you in this journey of self-discovery, self-mastery, and self-gift.
Mercy!
I believe that mercy is not only forgiveness, but also a healing balm for our wounds, sufferings, and divisions.
“There is nothing that man needs more than Divine Mercy - that love which is benevolent, which is compassionate, which raises man above his weakness to the infinite heights of the holiness of God”
